Keepers of the Miracle

In the silent embrace of the night,
the mother nourishes life with her embrace,
the father keeps watch, guardian of silence and time.
In the warmth of the family, the hope of the world is born.

Technical notes

The work is modelled by hand in pinkish clay, decorated with engobes, glossy and semi-glossy enamels.
The sculpture underwent two firings.

The skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been painted with different hues of engobes (slips) in order to create delicate nuances and plays of colour. I really like playing with colours and decorations.
