Technical notes: modelled in semi-refractory red clay with fine chamotte 0.02. Decorated only with engobes, it faced a single firing at 980°.

The balance of dreams

With the chair, leaning precariously, I want to represent the fragility of the balance between dream and reality, suggesting that even when it is uncertain, it is still possible if we rely on our ability to dream and stay connected to ourselves.

The girl is sitting on a chair, precariously balanced. Her relaxed body as she reads has her gaze turned towards the sky, lost in a moment of reflection.

The book in her hands transports her to new horizons, while the bird suspended in the air symbolises the desire for lightness and freedom.

The balance between what keeps us rooted to the ground and what makes us fly with our minds can be fragile, but never impossible.
