Without gravity

This sculpture, inspired by Marc Chagall's painting ‘Without Gravity’, captures the delicacy of a flight of love suspended in the air, a meeting of souls that transcends the weight of reality. The lovers, entwined in an endless embrace, seem to hover above a world of vivid colours, almost as if the power of love lifts them beyond the tangible.

Just as Chagall loved to portray his deep and passionate bond with his wife Bella, here too love becomes a timeless experience, a shared dream that defies the laws of gravity

Technical notes
The base, made of semi-refractory clay, has a grid of clay inside it that is necessary to keep the jet of glue that I injected inside it with a special gun stable and contained. The glue inside the base once it has dried holds the steel rod firmly in place.
Inside the pair of lovers are in turn two clay tubes into which the steel rods are threaded after injecting glue.
Ovviamente questo processo di assemblamento va fatto in due momenti diversi.

The sculptures are hollow. The face is as small as a hazelnut and modelled by hand. The curls are applied one at a time and are made of delicate strips of clay rolled up on themselves.

The skin is left in natural clay, while the coloured parts have been painted with different shades of engobes and ceramic glazes to create delicate nuances and plays of colour.

The base is made of semi-refractory clay while the lovers' couple is modelled in normal pinkish clay. Both parts are decorated with polished and glazed ceramic engobes and glazes.
